{"id":715,"date":"2013-06-03T22:07:23","date_gmt":"2013-06-03T20:07:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/prajnaquest.fr\/blog\/?p=715"},"modified":"2013-08-20T00:27:32","modified_gmt":"2013-08-20T00:27:32","slug":"quotes-from-the-book-of-khiu-te","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/prajnaquest.fr\/blog\/quotes-from-the-book-of-khiu-te\/","title":{"rendered":"Quotes from the Book of Khiu-te"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Quotes from the Book of Khiu-te<\/span><\/p>\n<p> From the Theosophist, Vol.3 n\u00b01 \u2013 October 1881, p.14, one can read the Editor (HPB) Notes to a text from Eliphas Levi on Death\u00a0:<\/p>\n<p> \u00ab\u00a0<em>To force oneself upon the current of immortality, or rather to secure for oneself an endless series of rebirths as conscious individualities \u2013 says the <b>Book of Khiu-te<\/b> Vol. XXXI\u00a0., one must become a co-worker with nature, either for good or for bad, in her work of creation and reproduction, or in that of destruction<\/em>.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p> This is a very accurate quote\u00a0: Vol. XXXI of the Book of Khiu-te.<\/p>\n<p> Knowing that the Book of Khiu-te could be the Gyut part (Tantra) of the Tibetan Buddhist canon, one would like to take a look at it. Specifically the Kanjur part, the Tanjur being more associated with what HPB call \u00ab\u00a0the Commentaries\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p> Many nomenclatures of the Kanjur are known and may differ from each other.<\/p>\n<p> At the time of the Theosophist publication (1881), at least one was known to the public, the one Csoma de Koros put together, published in 1836 in the Asiatic Researches, and later on translated in french by L\u00e9on Feer (Annales du Mus\u00e9e Guimet \u2013 Tome 2).<\/p>\n<p> The table of contents of the Kanjur is described as a 7 divisions treatise, which the 7th is the Gyut part in 22 sections. Therefore Volume XXXI may be the 31st book of this section.<\/p>\n<p> Looking at the contents of the different sections\u00a0:<\/p>\n<p> Section I (KA) : 14 books<\/p>\n<p> Section II (KHA) : 4 books<\/p>\n<p> Section III (GA) : 7 books<\/p>\n<p> Section IV (NGA) : 15 books<\/p>\n<p> Vol. XXXI refered to by HPB may be the 6th book of section IV, the<\/p>\n<p> \u00c7r\u00ee-Cathur-pith\u00e2h, tib. Dpal-gdan-vji-pa\u00a0; <span style=\"font-family: 'Lohit Hindi';\"><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">\u0f51\u0f54\u0f63\u0f0b\u0f42\u0f51\u0f53\u0f0b\u0f56\u0f49\u0f72\u0f0b\u0f54 <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">(folios 57-128)\u00a0:<\/p>\n<p> Worship of the compassionate CENRESIK (Sk. Avalokite\u00e7vara). This is a tantric treatise on the purification of the soul and the mystical union with the supreme Being.
